It is completely natural to want to hear from certain departed loved ones during a reading. Usually, the strongest spirit from your group of departed loved ones, or the one who has the most important message, comes through first. Often this energy is the person you are hoping to hear from most. Sometimes, it's not who you expect to hear from, but they have a very important message for you OR someone living who is very close to you. The Medium respects this and allows them to come through with their messages because your loved ones on the other side are allowing them to go first.

After we have connected to those spirits who need to come through first, the Medium will ask you for the person/s you want to hear from most. If you haven't connected to him/her yet, the Medium will connect to them for you at that time! This will hopefully help alleviate any anxiety to hear from certain loved ones during the reading and hopefully allow you to be very open to the energies that come through first, in case they are not who you were hoping to hear from the most.

Please try not to place any expectations beforehand about who will immediately come through for you and what they will say. Any expectations on your part may lead to disappointment and will most definitely block the process of those trying to get through to you from getting through effectively.

HOW SPIRIT COMMUNICATES

It takes a tremendous amount of energy for your loved ones to communicate with the Medium. It is all out of love for you!

Communicating with spirit is not like a normal conversation between living beings. Only bits and pieces of information, words, names, facts, images, etc come through and it's the Medium's job to deliver that information as objectively and clearly as possible.
A reading is a 3 way conversation between you, the Medium and your loved ones. Your loved ones know that the bits and pieces they do get through will make sense to YOU, even if not to the Medium.

During the reading, your departed loved ones will make references to names, descriptions and facts about: 1) Themselves, 2) Other departed loved ones with them on the spirit relm, 3) You & your life and 4) People still in your life now. Again, your loved ones who are departed will acknowledge people who WERE and ARE in your life and who are passed AND still alive (such as friends, family, neighbors, your 3rd grade teacher, etc). Please keep this in mind and remember that the information the Medium receives from your loved ones and shares with you will be about persons both PASSED and ALIVE. This is your departed loved one's way to validate for you that they are still around you, seeing everything that is happening currently in your life and recognizing and acknowledging things from your past as well.

As the Medium is reading you, they will ask questions to make sure you understand what is being said; questions like, "Does this make sense? Do you understand?" Please only answer questions, "YES, NO or I DON'T KNOW." Please do not give or say any names or other descriptive information as that is how the Medium is able to validate the loved one for you. Thank you!

Often times spirit comes through with very specific but random or strange things. The reason for this is to validate their identity and to prove they are still with you, sharing your life with you from the other side, leaving you without any doubt they are here.
This is a good example: If a Medium walks into a room of 100 people and says, "Someone is here who passed of a heart attack," 99 people will raise their hand and claim the spirit, because most people know someone who has had a heart attack and that is simply not specific enough. But if the Medium says, "Someone here is named Patty and she says you have a pair of her blue earrings," or "Someone is showing me macaroni and cheese. Did you just have that for lunch,or is that your absolute favorite dish?" your loved ones in spirit are able to undoubtably prove they are here, communicating with you and the Medium.

By naming persons from your past and current life, by acknowledging recent events (i.e. a trip you recently took or are planning) and by relaying recent thoughts you had that no one else knows and you never even said out loud, your departed loved ones are able to prove and validate their existence for you on the most poignant level. Once your loved ones have provided you with enough validating information, they will proceed with meaningful messages for you.

Your departed loved ones wish to 'prove' to you that, although they are no longer with you physically, they are in spirit watching over you and your loved ones, guiding and protecting you, sharing your life with you from the other side. They will acknowledge what's going on in your life now and possibly offer you guidance. They will want to give messages, possibly find closure or make amends with you or other living family members and friends.

YOU WILL HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO ASK THE MEDIUM QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR READING, AND TO ALSO ASK YOUR LOVED ONES ON THE OTHER SIDE ANY QUESTIONS YOU LIKE!

HOW TO PREPARE

1) You can spend a few minutes before the reading thinking about the people you would like to hear from.
2) You also may want to gather photos/artifacts, etc and have them near you before/during the reading. Your departed loved ones will respond to this.

3) Spend a few minutes before the reading 'winding down,' perhaps take a few deep breaths.
4) If you eat, make it something light, and please, no alcohol.
5) Also, please try to find a quiet, peaceful place where you will not be disturbed.

THINGS TO BRING

1) Some find it useful to have plenty of water and perhaps tissues with them during the reading.

2) You may also find it useful to keep a paper and pen handy to jot down information received during the reading.

3) Some find it useful, prior to their reading, to jot down names of relatives/friends/co-workers/neighbors/ etc. who are alive and have passed, who are from your present or your past, so they have something to refer to during the reading. Bring this list with you. PLEASE, HOWEVER, DO NOT SOLELY DEPEND ON THIS LIST ALONE. ONLY USE IT AS A REFERENCE.

4) You may also want to prepare a list of questions for the Medium and/or your loved ones who come through during the reading.
